In excellent and effective education accessible for all children was Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream. His dream lives on at Kilgore College each January, the College holds a special Dual Credit Scholarship Breakfast fundraiser.
The annual MLK breakfast started in 2018. All proceeds from the breakfast go towards financial support for the dual credit program in 26 participating high schools in East Texas. These scholarships enable students to fulfill high school graduation requirements and college courses simultaneously and help them to successfully transition to full-time students at Kilgore College.

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., who advocated for higher education, Kilgore College is hosting its first dual credit scholarship breakfast.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Dual Credit Scholarship Breakfast will be held Friday morning from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Devall Student Center Ballroom on the KC campus. The event is a fundraiser for dual credit scholarships with table sponsorships available at $100, $500, $1,000 and $2,500 levels.
